In 1794, Dorset rope and net makers – the Gundry family – built the Old Brewery on the banks of the River Brit in Bridport. Since then, there’s been non-stop brewing on this site. Generations of Palmers have kept the brews bubbling.

By car from the west, take the A14 east to join the A1120 at Stowmarket. Take the A1120 to Yoxford, then join the A12 heading north. Take the A1095 turn off for Southwold. Alternatively, take the A12 from East London, past Chelmsford, Colchester and Ipswich and follow directions above. For the sailors amongst you, tack into Southwold Harbour and walk across the common.
